Great state park. There are plenty of sites and even without a reservation we were able to get a nice one. It’s a long way from civilization but people still find it. Right across the street from a nice Lake Superior access point where you can swim. 16 miles from Grand Marias if you like dirt road travel. The deer park country store is a true gem. They have everything. We will definitely be back Don’t count on any cell service though. I have AT&T and had nothing.

Pretty quiet campground on a small lake. Not very busy in September. Only a few sites taken. Close to the shipwreck museum and also close to paradise. Real close to unlimited side by side or off road trails. We did some trail riding in our Jeep. The vermillion rescue site is worth the long dirt road drive. Beach there is very scenic. The fog rolled in, in the morning so you couldn’t even see the lake. The water pump water looked cloudy though and would not recommend drinking it. No cell service like most of Northern Michigan

We stopped here for one night on our way to Missouri from Colorado. It was a great, quiet spot near the highway. We called ahead around noon to book a site. The after hours check in was so easy! Everything was very convenient and really nice. We will definitely be saving this for future trips.
