Your RV deserves a smarter co-pilot

I called ahead and asked if I can overnight here with my van and the answer was “yes, but please tuck yourself a bit out of the way”. As it turns out, the parking lot is huge and it wasn’t a problem to tuck myself out of the way. I can by way of Route 1 from the south, went through the toll booth ($1), then slept over at the Plaza and the next day I drove back to Route 1 to continue north, again through the toll booth. The nearby trucks are loud, and even caused my smoke and CO2 alarm to come off! So then I relocated closer to the building. The night was as busy as any highway rest area. In Maine, apparently overnighting at highway rest areas isn’t really a thing, but it seems the officials look away, if it is just us travelers who come late and leave early and just want a safe spot to rest for the night. The parking lot had no tree coverage, so my Starlink worked with no obstructions.

Many giant sites, some grass and some on sand. Most are connected with paths. A few are open to the beach. Very few small private sites. the beach is giant and sandy. Quiet in September but with all the Garbage and cans in the bushes it's probably a party place and good for groups and kids. 2 pit toilets, and a nice little park.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Close enough to all the things we need to get done to go over the boarder to Canada. Close to the CAT ferry terminal. Super close to Acadia and a special dinner at the Jordan Pond House, as well as riding the carriage trails on our e-bikes. Great laundry, full hook-ups!

After Labor Day was stated on website as regular season, walk in only so we couldn’t book a site. Their website also said it couldn’t give a price per night. ReserveAmerica site also stated walkin only but stated $35 night after Labor Day. When we arrived we found it was $60 night.
