Inks Lake State Park – Burnet, TX
Our waterfront campsite was a great place to watch ducks, geese and all the water activities. We saw people paddling canoes and kayaks, floating on tubes, fishing from the lake banks, and fishing from motor boats. The sunsets were gorgeous. – wanderingdawgs
Elephant Rock Campground – Ardmore, OK
This is a very nice state park. This quiet campground overlooks Lake Murray. There is an abundance of pull through sites long enough for the biggest rigs and a good number of back in sites that offer a lot of privacy via trees. – CeeGee
Sand Hollow State Park – Hurricane, UT
Our experience with the Utah State Park system had been good so far, and this one surpassed our expectations. This has to be the cleanest park we have ever seen. We saw a park employee cleaning the picnic table in the next site for 15 minutes. Seriously! – Kate at The Scenic Route
Horton Creek Campground – Bishop, CA
We’ve stayed here twice–once in October 2014 for a week, and in May 2015 for 9 days. Both times, the campground was never more than about a quarter full. This campground is super quiet. Site #46 is one of our favorites of all time, especially when the skies put on fantastic light shows at dawn and dusk. – Rayn
Bayside Campground – Navarre, FL
Off the beaten path. The sites are all within 50 ft of the bay and shaded by huge oaks. The entire campground has a huge view of the water. – Garth
Lone Pine Campground – Lone Pine, CA
How she stands there, pristine and clear in the morning, and as the sun closes in on zenith begins to fade away like an ancient picture. Mount Whitney looming makes this place every cent worth the $19 the forest service is charging for vault toilets and no hookups. – Nathan @ Wand’rly
City of Rocks State Park – Faywood, NM
I loved it here. You are driving and driving and don’t see any rocks, then all of a sudden, this beautiful park comes into view. – Jen and Q
Warren Bridge – Pinedale, WY
Huge, level sites. There was no one else here except for us and the camp host! You can hear the Green River but you have to walk a bit in order to see it. Easy access off the highway. And a full Verizon signal! – NealysOnWheels
Johns Valley – Panguitch, UT
About 4 miles up the road from the turnoff to Bryce National Park, John’s Valley boon docking site was easy to find and access. It’s close to the National Park and is both quiet and private. – CampyTrails
North Fruita Desert Campground – De Beque, CO
The campground is right in the middle of the trails, and I’m pretty sure everyone that was there had a bike. We LOVED our site – it was huge, right on the edge of a bluff, with great views of the surrounding landscape. – Currently Wandering
Dog Creek – Cub Run, KY
We had a beautiful spot right on the lake and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the water. The campground was quiet and peaceful. Surrounding area was rural and beautiful. – ReneeC
First Landing State Park – Virginia Beach, VA
Loved this campground! If you want to camp in the dunes only minutes from the beach with easy access to miles of forested trails, this is the place to come. – WatsonsWander
Ten X Campground – Grand Canyon, AZ
If I were to imagine a legit campground where you would want to take your family for a true camping experience Ten-X would be it. It is nothing fancy at all, but it is perfect for what it is. Set in beautiful woods the sites are very generously spaced and the park did not feel crowded at all. – TDIPWR
Sebastian Inlet State Park – Vero Beach, FL
This is a gorgeous park with beach and lagoon access for boating, fishing, swimming, surfing, paddling, hiking, beach combing, and just soaking up some sun. Don’t miss the stunning sunrise on the ocean, and sunset on the lagoon. We did a sunrise paddle on our SUPs and saw bottlenose dolphins and an abundance of fish and birds. – Riveted Roost
Madison Campground – Yellowstone National Park
Having stayed in 7 of the campgrounds in Yellowstone, I would have to say, this is one of the best. The sites are well laid out, plenty of room in between each site. The area is pristine and you are surrounded by beautiful pine trees – it’s an idyllic setting. – Jane
Middle Fork River Campground – Penfield, IL
A gorgeous and well maintained campground around a little swimming lake just north of Champaign. Huge private feeling and wooded sites surrounded by wildflowers, and over 7 miles of hiking trails. – Technomadia
Sea Perch RV Resort – Yachats, OR
Sea Perch RV near Yachats, Oregon is a exceptionally well kept RV park with a host of amenities.This was one of our favorite RV park stays yet. Can’t wait to go back! – Roving Riveted
Kelly Lake Campground – Sterling, AK
This campground sits on the shore of Kelly Lake and has a trail from the campground to a cabin and on to intersect the Seven Lakes trail. Canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards would be right at home! – John & BJ
Martin Dies Jr. State Park – Jasper, TX
If you enjoy biking and kayaking/canoeing then you will like this park. We would recommend staying on the Walnut Ridge side and prefer sites 117-122 as they are large and on the water. – Tentless Texans
