5 Star Reviews – June 2016

By Campendium

Holiday Campground – LaGrange, GA

The campground is situated on a peninsula that juts out into the middle of the lake, so almost all the campsites are on the water. This was a good location for us to paddle and visit Callaway Garden and FDR’s Little White House. – Nancy

Odlin Park – Lopez Island, WA

What a great little waterfront campground this is! – Evergreengirl
Arkansas River – Buena Vista, CO

Large open space with the sounds of the Arkansas river – Van-Tramp

Wickham Park Campground – Melbourne, FL

This is a top spot for staying in the Melbourne area when we want a nature feeling around us, while still having access to shopping, dining and errands. – Technomadia

Eshom Campground – Badger, CA
Eshom Campground is a secluded little gem. It takes a little bit of work to get to – narrow one lane road with a lot of switchbacks – but the reward is worth it. – tsundo

Ainsworth State Park – Cascade Locks, OR

Beautiful small park on the banks of the Columbia River a few miles east of Portland. This park hosts a number of hiking trails, and is on the Historic Columbia River Highway – a great side trip if your vehicle is not too large for this twisty road. – KootenayWanderer

Ruby Mountain Campground – Buena Vista, CO

The campground host was friendly and helpful and helped us find the ideal spot for us to camp. The county road extends above and beyond the campground and provides an opportunity for riding bikes or easy hiking. – Loup407

Jacob Lake Campground – Jacob Lake, AZ

The central location make visiting Vermilion Cliffs NM, North Rim of the Grand Canyon or Lake Powell and Page, AZ a breeze. We made a day trip to Zion NP from here. – STHolland

Forest Road 4610 – Bend, OR

It’s about 3 miles to Bend so it’s close enough to be convenient yet far enough out to be relaxing. We loved this spot and all that is offered. – TinCanPlan

Waylon Jennings RV Park – Littlefield, TX

We couldn’t believe it at first but it was a 100% free with electric AND water hook ups. We slept really great and I was even able to go to Ace Hardware 100ft away in the morning to fix something on the camper. – americanfrolic

Country Campground – Detroit Lakes, MN

We loved this campground! It was truly the perfect option for our family to find that northern Minnesota experience that we were looking for. – barrygoodtimes

Sunset Point Campground – Harrington, ME

Wonderful grassy well established campground with great ocean views, comfortable accommodations and easy access three miles off Highway 1. – Tomp

Lake Metigoshe State Park – Bottineau, ND

The amount and variety of birds just from our campsite was outstanding and to the point that I had to buy a bird identification book just to try and make some sense of them all! – Streamy

French Farm Lake – Mackinaw City, MI

French Lake Farm is a real boondocking gem. The spots are huge and private with plenty of shade from surrounding trees. There are firepits in each site and a lake for fishing. – Drivin’ & Vibin’

Soap Creek Corral – Gunnison, CO

Soapcreek is a very secluded campground. The tent area and a couple of rv sites are next to Soapcreek and are great. Soapcreek is a nice stream with cool clear water. – Travis

Silver Queen Campground – Aspen, CO

Wow! Ok, if you haven’t been to see Maroon Bells, you are missing out and it needs to be on your bucket list. If you’re camping, you can’t camp any closer to the Maroon Bells than this campground unless you’re backpacking. This place was amazing, peaceful, picturesque and perfectly located. – thecrazygoodlife.com

North Rim Campground, Grand Canyon National Park – North Rim, AZ

This was an incredible site at an incredible campground. Our site (14) and the sites on either side bordered the trail that goes along the rim of the Grand Canyon. Amazing. – goofus deluxe

Millersylvania State Park – Olympia, WA

Millersylvania has the charm and feel of a real campground that is missing in many of our updated and over-pruned modern state campgrounds. – Xiongmao12

Golden Hill State Park – Barker, NY

Golden Hills is a small New York State Park right on the shores of Lake Ontario. It is in the middle of nowhere, which adds to its charm. If you need a place to relax and unwind with a spectacular view, you can’t beat this place. – CeeGee

Bolar Mountain Recreation Area – Covington, WV

This campground is on the banks of Lake Moomaw, a gem of a large lake in western Virginia, surrounded by NF land. – Tin Can Annie

Shad Landing – Snow Hill, MD

Shad Landing is one of two campgrounds within Pocomoke River State Park, and it is absolutely lovely. All of the sites are on the outside perimeter of a large circle, and each was spacious offering great site separation and privacy. – Technomadia
