10 of the Best Luxury RV Resorts in the U.S.

Luxury RV parks take camping to the next level, offering amenities above and beyond the typical basic pool and playground. What elements bump an RV park to the “luxury” level? You can expect to find large, meticulous campsites, with some offering water views. The facilities are more developed, potentially including fancy clubhouses, restaurants, and camp stores. Extra amenities might appeal to children or adults—or both—as will a packed activity schedule.

All of this luxury does add to the price. While some parks include activities and amenities in the nightly reservation rate, others add activity fees. At the end of the day, you have to decide whether this is the type of camping for you. If so, the cost might be more than a rustic campground, but it will be less than a similarly-outfitted hotel.

While far from a complete list, here are 10 of the best luxury RV parks in the U.S., representing various camping styles and regions.

1. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort & Cabana Cabins in Auburndale, Florida

Camp Margaritaville is a new chain of luxury RV resorts inspired by Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville” song, which has morphed into a lifestyle brand with hotels, restaurants, and more. The Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Auburndale offers oversized RV sites; motorhome suites with tiki huts, hammocks, and outdoor televisions; and cabins with full kitchens. Multiple pools, specialty dog areas, and highly rated on-site restaurants add to the luxury.

2. Angel Fire RV Resort in Angel Fire, New Mexico

Staying at a luxury RV resort doesn’t mean you have to give up nature entirely. Angel Fire RV Resort brings a rustic, mountain atmosphere alongside a full slate of amenities. Take your pick from the on-site golf course, zipline, mountain bike park, chairlift, and more, all with expansive views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains.

3. Normandy Farms Campground in Foxborough, Massachusetts

Normandy Farms Campground has been a premier camping destination near Boston and Cape Cod since 1971, winning multiple awards in the years since. It feels like a summer camp for families—with a luxurious touch—due to a packed activities calendar. Underneath the towering trees, you’ll find an RC track, multiple pools, a fishing pond, and hiking trails that lead to the neighboring forest.

4. Tucson-Lazydays KOA in Tucson, Arizona

The Tucson-Lazydays KOA has won the Campendium Campers Choice Award multiple times. This massive RV park has more than 400 sites, and some have extravagant amenities such as private dog runs, fireplaces, personal playgrounds, and two-story patios with sky decks—and you haven’t even left the campsite yet. The rest of the resort features an activities room, deluxe fire pits, food delivery, and more.

5. Carolina Pines RV Resort in Conway, South Carolina

Carolina Pines RV Resort is the kind of place where the whole family can have a full vacation without leaving the campground. Those without kids won’t feel overlooked, either. It’s been newly acquired by Sun Outdoors, which is making major moves in the luxury resort realm. Amenities include a large waterpark, deluxe pickleball courts, and an off-site beach club near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, offering a private slice of sand.

6. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Can we talk about luxury RV campgrounds without talking about Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort? Fort Wilderness takes all of the magic of Disney and brings it to the RV park, while also maintaining a beautiful natural environment. Campers get exclusive access to the theme parks and can enjoy a host of on-site amenities, including character campfires, movie nights, pony rides, viewing of the Electric Water Pageant, and more (some for an additional cost).

7. Motorcoach Country Club in Indio, California

Winner of the 2022 USA Today’s 10Best award for Best Luxury RV Resort, Motorcoach Country Club combines camping with the exclusivity of an upscale country club, as its name implies. Located near Palm Springs, California, this park only allows Class A motorhomes longer than 30 feet. Amenities include fitness and wellness activities, a golf course, tennis courts, and waterways.

8. Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport, Maine

A little more rustic than many of the others on this list, Sandy Pines Campground earns rave reviews from visitors for the large campsites and meticulous grounds. In recent years, Sandy Pines has ventured into the glamping arena, adding glamorous safari tents. Themed weekends, kids’ activities, and a saltwater pool add to the fun—or paddle out to explore the scenic salt marshes neighboring the campground.

9. Riverwalk on the Yadkin RV Park in Jonesville, North Carolina

A multi-year winner of the Campendium Campers Choice Award, Riverwalk on the Yadkin RV Park is a modern “boutique” campground, offering a unique experience with easy access to the Yadkin River and Jonesville Greenway.
