Overlook Campground – Santa Fe, NM
It’s a small campground, and the best sites are perched right above the lake, with marvelous views. All in all, a great place to stay, and well worth the $7! – Zennie (Uphill Zen)
Bonita Canyon Campground, Chiricahua National Monument – Willcox, AZ
Coati in front of a sign… about Coati’s. This is an excellent place to see Coati’s as there are troops of them and they’re fairly observable – we watched 16 of them for hours over 3 days. – bfraz
Lake Hattie – Laramie, WY
Laramie has a couple great boondocking sites, but this was by far our favorite. All size rigs can fit here, but the smaller rigs can actually get on the beach and have an amazing view. – Drivin’ & Vibin’
Bosque del Apache BLM – San Antonio, NM
Gravel road maybe .25 mile from the interstate exit to San Antonio, NM. Great views and loved this stay. Great service with ATT & Verizon. – Jen & John

Palo Duro Canyon State Park – Canyon, TX
The sites are spacious and very picturesque, with a covered picnic table. Mesquite is an internationally certified dark sky location, but there was a full moon while I was there, so not many stars were visible. – John T

This place is a dream! This spot is 10-15 minutes into SLO. 20 minutes from Pismo Beach. Couldn’t ask for a better place! – continentscollide
Cypress Creek Preserve – Land O Lakes, FL
We stayed here for 5 nights and it was great. Lots of trails around (really flat, but trails nonetheless). Saw a couple armadillos (which is cool for us from the north), and heard a barred owl and some coyotes. – Kelsey
Buck Hall Recreation Area – McClellanville, SC
This is our 2nd time here at Buck Hall. This is a small quiet site located on the Intracoastal Waterway 25 miles north of Charleston. Beautiful sunrises over the Intracoastal. – wanderlust
Clearwater Forebay Number 2 – Clearwater, OR
Quite honestly, this is one of our top five all-time favorite boondocking stays. Simply an amazing primitive campground, in a great location, which also has terrific cell reception. – Life Among Pines
Levee Road – Ehrenberg, AZ
Take your pick! Levee road goes for miles and there’s a site for every camper. Options are endless! I backed my trailer into a small dead end road. Fire pit ready to go for me. A small trail down to a beautiful 50 foot sand beach. – JonnySlice
Fort Worden State Park – Port Townsend, WA
Being able to wake up and see the Puget Sound from our bed made our trip super special. The amenities at this state park were a pleasant surprise. – Far Fetched
