North Abutment Campground | Army Corps Of Engineers – Grenada, MS

We paid $20 per night and felt we received good value for our dollar. We would certainly stay here again if we were in the area. – The Rollin Ollens

McKinney Falls State Park
McKinney Falls State Park | Texas State Park – Austin, TX

When we arrived our first impression was how lucky we were to be able to stay in a leafy, wooded state park at the bargain price of $20/night yet be just minutes from the downtown of a large and vibrant city. – Zamia Ventures

Bayou Segnette State Park
Bayou Segnette State Park | Louisiana State Park – Westwego, LA

I honestly can’t find a reason to dock a star from this one… I was looking for a place that was nice and quiet, not too expensive, and close to New Orleans (especially the French Quarter) and this place ticked all of those boxes. – Blake

We truly enjoyed our stay here. The weather was perfect. BLM has a gem in this campground! We will definitely return. – StumblesandFumbles

Hole in the Wall Campground
Hole in the Wall Campground | Mojave National Preserve – Cima, CA

The campground was about half full, so we had no problem finding an awesome site in the upper reaches of the campground. We had just left the sweltering heat of Lake Mohave, and the weather was perfect while we were there. – cc and canine

Chattahoochee Bend State Park
Chattahoochee Bend State Park | Georgia State Park – Newnan, GA

Chattahootchee Bend is 2500 acres in size – large, hilly expanses of beautiful woods. I stayed here over Thanksgiving week, so the campground was pretty full, with lots of families, but it was very quiet and peaceful. – K Smith

Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site

Stayed overnight but can’t wait to come back. The views are spectacular! It is a haven for young rock climbers. – lamerex4

Little Cowhole Mountain
Little Cowhole Mountain | Mojave National Preserve – Baker, CA

Hands down one of our most favorite campsites we’ve ever stumbled across. We cleaned up the entire site, including in and around the ginormous stone fire pit. – afamilyoutside

Soap Creek | BLM – Marble Canyon, AZ

This is dispersed camping on BLM land within the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. The surroundings and the sunsets were beautiful. – Nin-n-Geeb

Very nice place to overnight. Plenty of space and awesome views. We arrived about 2pm, set up, took a hike up the hill, and settled in to watch the sunset. – Donburke2008

We were the only ones at the campground, very secure and like in jungle garden. – Suemabry

Wright's Beach Campground Sonoma Coast State Park
Wright’s Beach Campground | Sonoma Coast State Park – Bodega Bay, CA

Right on the beach with incredible views and the constant sound of crashing waves. No hookups but the location makes up for it. – Livinginastream

Kartchner Caverns State Park Arizona State Park
Kartchner Caverns State Park | Arizona State Park – Benson, AZ

Decided to spend 2019 Christmas here, and are so glad we did! The cavern tours were fantastic (we did both the Big Room and the Throne Room), beautiful colors and wonderful history. – Kgolding05

Isle du Bois Ray Roberts Lake State Park
Isle du Bois | Ray Roberts Lake State Park – Pilot Point, TX

The lost pines in this park really amplify the beauty to a DFW native. It’s a bizarre convergence of the Pineywoods, Plains, and Prairie regions and you can encounter each on a single trail. – N1ck

Lake 13 Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge
Lake 13 | Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge – Maxwell, NM

No one else was around when we stopped. Even though it’s pretty close to Maxwell it was very quiet. Picnic tables and trash bins but no fires allowed. Beautiful views of the lake. Overall a great place to park.- SimpleJoyfulJourney
