San Mateo Memorial County Park – Loma Mar, CA
The county memorial park turned out to be a lovely spot in a lush grove of redwood trees. Close to dusk, the fog started to roll in off the ocean, giving a quiet, peaceful feeling. – JJ
Haviland Lake Campground – Durango, CO
On the lake, with lake access for kayaks/canoes/SUP’s down the hill from the site. Amazing views from sun up to sundown. Cannot wait to go back. – Maman325
The Vineyards Campground & Cabins – Grapevine, TX

Indian Creek Campground – Cherokee, NC
The site is right beside Bunches Creek and the sound of the water is wonderful. My idea of a perfect campground. – Crobb
Clearwater Forebay Number 2 – Clearwater, OR
This spot. Wow! It truly was beautiful. I had the place to myself for over half the nights I was there. If you like boondocking, this site has to be on the list of places to go! – Jeffrey
Buckeye Creek – Bridgeport, CA

South Marcum Campground – Benton, IL
Right on the huge lake. Clean and groomed open areas. Sites are far apart and almost all with shade. – lindy
Hartman Rocks – Gunnison, CO
Beautiful area but requires 4wd if pulling a camper. We were high up and had great views on a totally level site. – Wolfgang

Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park – McCalla, AL
An amazing State Park with a wealth of circa 1800’s historical buildings and cabins and of course the Civil War era furnace which is an impressive structure to say the least. – RambleOn
Maumelle Campground – Little Rock, AR

Palo Duro Canyon State Park – Canyon, TX
Unbelievable views, amazing staff, nice sites with full hookups, 2 dump stations, horseback riding, tons and tons of hiking and biking trails and did I mention awesome scenery? – EDKARIS
Auxiliary Dam Campground – Lake Isabella, CA
Not only is it free to camp here (with a national park pass), but there are dumpsters, port-o-lets, a freshwater spigot, and even a dump station (for a fee). – WatsonsWander
Mississagi Lighthouse & Campground – Meldrum Bay, ON, Canada

Richland Dam Recreation Area | Fort Pierre National Grassland – Pierre, SD
This is the granddaddy of all boondocking places. Gorgeous place. Rolling hills and the sunset over the lake is spectacular. – Monica
Cave Canyon Campground | Fort Stanton National Conservation Area – Lincoln, NM
It’s a really quiet spot with easy access to a variety of trails (paper maps are available at the kiosk by the cave entrance) that can be hiked or mountain biked. – Live Small Ride Free
Hershey Thousand Trails RV Resort – Lebanon, PA
This is one of the nicest Thousand Trails parks we have been to. The location is great for visiting Hershey attractions. – ketah777
Kit Carson Campground | Toiyabe National Forest – Markleeville, CA
We love this campground. Aspen trees , huge granite boulders, & great views of the mountains above. Best camping in the area. – Festerhairball
Curt Gowdy State Park – Cheyenne, WY
CIf you are in the area and enjoy mountain biking, fishing, paddleboarding, hiking, generally beautiful scenery and/or relaxing by a lake…this spot should not be missed. – JessieMonsters
Bear Trap Campground – Magdalena, NM
One group of picnickers came in Sunday for a few hours, otherwise complete isolation and relaxation. Highly recommend for anyone that truly wants a no-signal getaway. – Patrick & Chet
Nolan Tank – Sedona, AZ

Capitol Reef Overflow – Torrey, UT
